Two New Adjusting Times Available!
In order to better serve you, we have added 12:00pm and 6:00pm appointments to our schedule.  Please be aware that our schedule is appointment-based.  In other words, once all scheduled patients have been served, we will typically close that shift, even if it is a few minutes prior to our posted hours.  Want to make sure we will be here for you? Simply pick up the phone and let us know that you would like to come by for an adjustment.  That helps us be prepared for you, and insures that we will be here and available to help you keep your schedule of care.

But I’m Sick!
There are two times that your adjustment is vitally important.  The first is when you are well…to help you stay that way.  Your nervous system controls virtually every cell, tissue and organ in your body.  Your digestive system, your immune system, your reproductive system.  Regular chiropractic check-ups help keep you functioning at your best…helping you and your family stay healthy.

The second occasion when you really need to be on an adjusting table?  When you’re sick.  When your body has its hands full just trying to stay vertical.  Research has proven that your immune system gets an almost instantaneous boost following a chiropractic adjustment.  I realize that you feel crappy, look horrible, and probably haven’t had a bath.  Hey, we love ya anyway, and will hurry you off to a private room before anyone sees you, give you the best adjustment of your life, and send you back home to bed.  (Don’t worry, we will thoroughly disinfect the table!)  And don’t be afraid of making us sick.  I’ve been doing this for 28 years and have been out sick a total of a day and a half during that time!

Seizures
“How can chiropractic help seizures?  I thought it was just for back and neck pain.”  I used to think that too…because I went to my chiropractor only for back and neck pain.  Now, I want you to understand that chiropractic care is NOT a treatment for seizures.  But let me ask you a question…If a person, usually a child, is having seizures…is that child’s nervous system functioning optimally?  Of course not!  My job is to discover what is interfering with each person’s ability to fully express his or her God-given potential.  When this potential is not being realized, it can show up in many forms…with a variety of names.  ADHD, fibromyalgia, allergies, colitis, seizures.  If you know someone who is suffering from seizures, don’t wait for their M.D. to refer them (although it happens, most medical doctors know less about chiropractic than you do). Please share this information with them, send them to www.marshchiro.com, send them to our Facebook page, have them call me personally,  urge them to be checked by a competent, wellness-oriented chiropractor, regardless of what other forms of treatment they are pursuing.  It could change their life!

Your Schedule of Care
It is important to remember that, especially during your Initial Intensive Care, every adjustment builds on the last one.  Like putting bricks into the foundation of a building, if you were to start removing bricks, what effect would that have on the strength of the foundation?  It would weaken it, right?  Same with your foundation.  Missing appointments waters down the effect of your care.  Healing slows, and those old, bad habits your body had formed over the years as it adapted to those old spinal injuries that healed wrong begin to slowly return, because the body was never given the opportunity…the time to learn new habits.  You see, that is an important outcome of a properly-followed care plan.  Your body is taught, over time, to make better decisions and adapt better to those stresses that it has mal-adapted to over the years.  As you progress to Reconstructive Care and visits are less frequent, the process begun in Initial Intensive Care is given a chance to continue and reach optimal function, which is maintained as you continue into Wellness Care.

Your Children Need Me!
Consider the following:
1. J.M. Duncan, M.D. estimates the force applied to a child’s head and neck during a “normal’ delivery to be approximately 90 – 120 pounds.
2. G. Gutman, M.D. found that, in a study involving 2,000 newborns, 80% were “out of autonomic balance” in the upper neck, presumably due to trauma surrounding the birth process.
3. The average 11 year-old child, according to OSHA, has suffered 7,000 spinal traumas.
4. Research by Tapio Videman, M.D. found that when a weight-bearing joint like the spine is damaged and heals wrong, permanent damage…scar tissue resembling bubblegum begins to layer into the joint within 10-14 days.
5. This scar tissue affects the way the spine moves, causing the spine to interfere with the very thing it is designed to protect…the spinal cord and nerves.
6. Chiropractic care, when begun early, BEFORE pain is present, can prevent this cycle from causing lifelong health problems down the road.  Healthy children grow into healthy adults.  Give your kids the best chance possible…make an appointment to have them checked for subluxations.  Ask one of us for a special Friends and Family Gift Certificate.

Patient Appreciation Day
Has anyone told you lately that they appreciate you?  Well we do!!!  Look for details of our upcoming Patient Appreciation Day, as we celebrate our 28th year by honoring the people who made it all possible…you, the patient.
